About Contexto

Contexto is a word guessing game based on semantic similarity. Unlike traditional word games that give letter-based clues, Contexto tells you how close your guess is in meaning to the secret word.

After each guess, you receive a rank number — the lower the rank, the closer your word is to the answer. Rank #1 means your guess is the most semantically similar word, while a rank of #500+ means it's very far off.

Guesses are color-coded: green (rank 1-30) means you're very close, yellow (31-100) means you're getting warmer, and red (100+) means you're far away. Your guesses are automatically sorted by rank so you can see which words are closest.

The key to Contexto is thinking in associations and categories. Start broad, then narrow down based on which direction gets the lowest ranks. There are no limits on guesses, so take your time and enjoy the semantic puzzle!
