How to Play Waffle

Waffle is a word puzzle where you swap letters on a waffle-shaped grid to form 6 valid five-letter words — 3 across and 3 down. The grid has 21 active cells arranged in a cross-hatch pattern with 4 empty holes. After each swap, every letter recolors to show how close you are to the solution.

Tips & Strategy

• Green letters are already correct — don't move them.
• Look for swaps that fix two letters at once for maximum efficiency.
• Intersection cells (where rows and columns cross) are key — solve those first.
• The optimal solution uses 10 swaps. Each extra swap costs you a star.
